The Information We May Collect
SSA collects personally identifiable information such as names and email addresses from Users who are over the age of thirteen (13). SSA may also collect IP addresses and pages visited from Users who view our Site. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and administer the Site. Your IP address may also be used to gather broad demographic information.
Additionally, if you decide to become a member of Mothers Against Skin Cancer, you will be asked to register and provide certain information including, for example, a valid e-mail address, home address, and any interests relating to sun safety news and education. Such information may be used by SSA to conduct surveys and/or User polling.
When you register to become a User, our Site may use an electronic "cookie" to store a unique user ID. We may use this user ID to identify you in our database, which enables you to enter and use certain areas of the Site.
SSA wants to be sure that it keeps only the most accurate and up-to-date information about you in SSA's records. Therefore, whenever you believe that your contact information needs to be updated, you can email SSA at SunSafety@sunsafetyalliance.org to correct or update your contact information. You may choose at any time to remove your name, postal address, email addresses, and other information from the lists SSA uses to conduct surveys and/or User polling and elect not to receive correspondence from SSA by emailing at SunSafety@sunsafetyalliance.org.
SSA may share non-personal, non-individual information in aggregate form with third parties. If you do not want to be included in User lists, you may opt-out by submitting a request to SSA at SunSafety@sunsafetyalliance.org.
Except for the "Kids" section, this Web site is intended for adults. SSA does not collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If SSA obtains knowledge that it has personally identifiable information about a child under 13 in retrievable form in its files, SSA will delete that information from our existing files.
