Become a Partner with the Sun-Safe Child Care Project

The goal of the Sun-Safe Child Care Project is to help early education teachers and child caregivers, parents, and young children to be “sun safe.” In order to reach this goal the Sun Safety Alliance needs partners. We seek partnerships with early child care and education (ECCE) programs, non-profit organizations, professional organizations, and other groups with an interest in keeping children sun safe. We also encourage businesses and corporations to join us in this endeavor.

What does it mean to partner with the Sun-Safe Child Care Project?
Partnership means that your organization or program believes that sun safety is an important part of child and family health, and that you are willing to work with us to promote Sun-Safe behaviors.

What does partnership involve?
Partnering with the Sun-Safe Child Care Project provides opportunity for two-way communication. By sharing ideas and recommendations, we learn more about your program needs and what we can provide to meet those needs. In return, you can provide feedback as we develop resource materials, inform us of resources that you have found, and share materials developed through your program. In return, you will receive information and materials from this important project as they become available.

What is the benefit of partnership?
Partnerships can help achieve the goal to provide a single point of contact where ECCE staff and parents can locate many different sun safety resources. Through reciprocal links from the SSA website with our partners we can enhance awareness of partnering programs and corporations and their products and services. Furthermore, you will receive recognition as a partner in an important national initiative.

Another benefit is that you will receive new information as soon as it's available, such as parent information, staff training, and children's curriculum and activities.

How can I become a partner?
To become a partner, contact Dr. Charlotte Hendricks, Project Director, at , or click on logo to sign up.

Can individuals partner with the Sun Safety Alliance?
Absolutely! Individuals can also become partners by joining join Mothers and Others Against Skin Cancer (MASC) . There is no cost and no obligation when you join MASC. Individual members benefit by receiving:

  • The quarterly newsletter of the Sun Safety Alliance
  • Sun safety facts and information
  • When available, consumer coupons related to sun safety products such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats

Membership in MASC is important to this national initiative as it documents the interest in and need for sun safety for young children. As a member, we also can provide you with information about sun safety developments in your state if you would like to become an advocate for the cause.
